Job summary

Frederick County Government seeks a Community Support Specialist for the Scott Key Center to supervise and guide adults with developmental disabilities in daily activities and employment programs. The role includes personal care, safety, behavior management, and coordination of community activities.

Responsibilities cover developing individualized plans, teaching vocational skills, and maintaining progress notes, within a 40-hour work week and daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in human services, aging services, developmental or intellectual disability services, or case management.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and supervision in an integrated community support, day habilitation program or employment programs for adults with developmental disabilities.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene needs including toileting and meals.
• Transport adults to off-site work locations in a County vehicle.
• Develop individualized support plans and goals for participants.
• Teach vocational skills in an integrated community setting.
• Provide crisis intervention and safe-keep of participant wellbeing.
