Job summary

The Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a full‑time Early Years Practitioner (Higher Level) for Free Spirits Nursery at Freeman Hospital. You will care for children aged 0‑5, applying the Early Years Foundation Stage and supporting development in a busy NHS setting.

Essential criteria include NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, strong interpersonal skills and ability to plan stimulating activities under OFSTED requirements. Interview date 07 October 2026; 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent (in Childcare).
• Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage and how to apply it in practice.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Care and supervise children aged 0-5 under guidance of Lead Practitioner and Nursery Managers.
• Implement a structured, stimulating play environment per OFSTED requirements.
• Support onboarding of students on placement and assist with parent communication.
