Job summary

Douglas County School District seeks an Educational Assistant IV - Early Childhood Ed to support preschool students with special needs, assist teachers and service providers, and help implement interventions in non‑classroom settings, including during bathroom, playground, and transit activities.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR and First Aid certifications, 37.5 hours per week, and a 0.94 FTE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to follow district policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to students in non-classroom settings (bathroom, playground, bus) and may involve lifting or moving equipment.
• Communicate and interact appropriately with students, families, and school personnel.
• Document health-related services in the designated Medicaid documentation system as assigned.
• Assist with materials preparation and implement interventions under the preschool teacher and/or special education team.
• Administer and document medications to students and perform medical procedures as delegated.
• Supervise students throughout the day, including when the preschool teacher is absent.
• Clean and sanitize classrooms per regulatory guidelines.
• Assist with daily living skills instruction (food preparation, hand-over-hand or tube feeding, toileting).
• Complete and maintain required training records and PDIS/TSG certifications as applicable.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
