Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their home and community. You will provide person-centered care, encourage independence, and ensure safety and dignity in every interaction.

You will support daily living activities, help with mobility, implement individualized care plans, and advocate for rights while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of behavior support plans (BSPs) and home care practices.
• Ability to assist individuals with mobility and personal care needs.
• Proficiency in tracking goals and implementing individualized support strategies.
• Strong understanding of individual rights, person-centered advocacy, and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on support with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility.
• Foster independence and community involvement for individuals with disabilities.
• Implement and adapt individualized care plans and behavioral strategies (BSP).
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment that protects individual rights and well-being.
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other diverse needs.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Provide transportation and accompany individuals to medical, therapy, and community appointments.
