Job summary

Limitless Possibilities LLC is seeking Direct Support Professionals to supervise adults with disabilities across home, community, and vocational settings. You will support daily living tasks, provide opportunities, respect informed choice, and follow individualized service plans under supervision.

The role emphasizes communication, problem solving, mobility, and safety. You will work as part of a team to promote independence, document progress, and advocate for clients while adhering to program

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age (21 years for driving positions).
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience in providing community supports to people with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to reason and problem solve.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess a valid driver license.
• Possess automobile insurance.
• Willing to perform any reasonable request to meet the needs of the persons served.
• Ability to use computer applications such as a word processor, e-mail, etc.
• Capable of working with adults with developmental disabilities by communicating verbally to instruct, demonstrate, train, and work cooperatively.
• Stand, sit, bend, lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move intermittently; up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Household Management: Direct support professionals assist the individual with household tasks and transportation needs to maximize independence.
• Facilitation of Services: Direct support professionals fulfill roles related to service plan development, implementation, and review.
• Health and Wellness: Direct support professionals promote the health and wellness of all clients.
• Organizational Participation: Direct support professionals are familiar with the organizational mission, vision and values.
• Documentation: Direct support professionals understand documentation requirements and manage them efficiently.
• Client Empowerment: Direct support professionals help individuals lead a self-determining life with support and information.
• Assessment: Direct support professionals are knowledgeable about assessment practices to respond to needs and interests.
• Advocacy: Direct support professionals are knowledgeable about human rights and client rights.
• Community Networking: They identify and access supports in the community.
• Building Relationships: They support development of friendships and relationships.
• Communication: They employ effective communication strategies to collaborate with the individual.
• Crisis Intervention: They know crisis prevention and resolution techniques.
• Professionalism: They pursue knowledge to perform duties.
• Vocational, Educational, and Career Support: They understand career and education concerns of individuals.
