Job summary

Whole Life seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered care for adults with developmental, intellectual, and/or physical disabilities in Connecticut. You will help with daily living activities, promote independence, and support community integration in a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Proof of High School diploma, transcripts, or GED equivalent.
• Proof of valid driver’s license, social security card, birth certificate, or passport.
• Ability to pass a Background Check, safe driving record, and Abuse Registry Check; post-hire, Fit for Duty and TB test within 30 days.
• Must be able to stand, move, twist, bend, kneel, reach, lift, and walk; some positions up to 100 lbs.
• Must document care in English and communicate with clients and coworkers verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meals.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Ensure a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and independence promotion.
• Use mobility equipment with proper techniques.
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
• Implement individualized care plans.
