Job summary

Whole Life seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered care to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Connecticut. You will assist clients with daily living activities, promote independence, and support community integration while building trusting relationships with clients and families.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, administering medications, documenting observations, and supporting safe, dignified living environments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Proof of valid driver's license and verifiable IDs (SSN, birth certificate, or passport).
• Ability to pass a background check, safety and health screenings including TB test within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal prep.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and attend medical appointments as needed.
• Keep living areas clean and safe through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment (e.g., Hoyer lifts) with proper technique.
• Document daily activities and incidents accurately; maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
