Job summary

Love Help Care Family Support LLC in Indianapolis, IN seeks a compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. You will provide personalized care to individuals with disabilities and help them with daily living activities, fostering independence and dignity.

You will implement ISPs, document progress, transport clients to appointments and community activities, and collaborate with families and the care team. Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as DSP/CNA or in human services preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with IDD.
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately.
• Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, and errands.
• Encourage skill-building, independence, and community integration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and care team members.
• Respond appropriately to behavioral support needs and crisis situations.
