Job summary

The Arc Baltimore is seeking Direct Support Professionals to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Baltimore, helping them achieve daily living skills and active community participation.

You will implement individualized plans, monitor safety, and document progress in accordance with agency requirements. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to transport people supported as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor people supported to ensure safety regarding medical, health, behavioral, and environmental issues.
• Assist with daily living skills (e.g., lifting, transferring, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry, cooking).
• Implement Individual Plans and the Outcomes, Goals, and Strategies.
• Complete paperwork including incident reports, progress notes, and behavior data.
• Plan and participate in community outings with people supported.
• Maintain living environment per Maryland COMAR and health dept standards.
• Administer and record medications as required; accompany to medical emergencies as needed.
• Work with people supported as assigned and complete required trainings.
