Job summary

Abraxas Youth & Family Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional (PRN) to provide direct care and supervision for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Raleigh, NC.

You’ll implement individualized service plans, assist with daily living, and promote independence and community participation while upholding ethics and safety in a collaborative team setting. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00AM–4:30PM, with a focus on dignity and respectful care.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, patient approach.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Commitment to promoting independence, self‑advocacy, and community integration for adults with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to maintain compliance with mandatory reporting standards and organizational ethical policies.

Responsibilities

• Direct Care & Individual Support: Provide person-centered direct care, supervision, and instruction tailored to each participant's needs.
• Supervise individuals in staff-to-participant ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:12, offering additional hands‑on support as needed.
• Assist individuals with daily living activities, physical care, and personal wellness goals.
