Job summary

Friends of Children with Special Needs (FCSN) is a Bay Area non-profit focused on helping individuals with developmental challenges. Our ADP Instructor provides training, supervision, and personal care support to adults in the program, promoting health, independence, and community integration.

Under the Program Coordinator, you will develop curricula, lead classes, ensure safety, transport participants, and document progress while upholding HIPAA and person-centered practices.

Qualifications

• AA or Bachelor degree required; HS graduate encouraged to apply
• At least one year of experience with developmentally disabled individuals or a strong learning orientation
• Proficient communication skills in English (oral and written)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and data entry tools required
• Ability to adapt to changing participant needs and manage multiple tasks
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Good independent judgment and decision-making in support of participants

Responsibilities

• Provide training, personal care assistance and support to participants to maximize self-care and independence
• Provide close supervision and engagement to ensure safety and well-being
• Develop engaging curriculum and organize activities tailored to participants' needs
• Motivate participants and actively engage them in classes and activities
• Provide vocational training to increase job skills for future opportunities
• Transport participants for community outings and activities
• Communicate with participants, families, and team members and document progress
• Follow safety, HIPAA, and confidentiality requirements
