Job summary

Rappahannock Area Community Services Board seeks a dedicated caregiver to support adults with developmental disabilities in-home and in the community. You will assist with daily living, personal care, and skill-building, following each resident’s plan of care.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, coordinating with family and team members, and providing awake overnight supervision to residents as needed. A Virginia driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Some experience working with adults with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness preferred.
• Knowledge of housekeeping practices (cleaning, cooking, laundry, household related tasks).
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provides support with basic needs, self-care, and daily activities.
• Assists residents with social and leisure activities inside and outside the home.
• Assists residents with physician appointments and transportation.
• Administers and documents medication administration.
• Greets visitors and supervises visitation in the home.
• Keeps daily progress notes and reports for management.
