Job summary

Candor Consulting & Diagnostics is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to empower Deaf and hard-of-hearing students to succeed academically and gain independence. The role emphasizes IEP collaboration, language development, and access to instruction with accommodations and assistive technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred but not required.
• Texas Educator Certification in DHH required.
• Familiarity with IDEA and IEP processes.
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) required.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IEP teams to create and implement IEPs.
• Deliver instruction in language, auditory skills, and social-emotional learning.
• Monitor progress with data to meet IEP goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, SLPs, audiologists, and families.
• Advocate for accommodations and assistive technologies to ensure access.
• Prepare students for postsecondary education, vocational settings, and independence.
• Promote student independence and safety in school and community.
