Job summary

Centerstone is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) to assist clients in articulating recovery goals, identifying barriers, and building daily living skills. The PRS will teach problem solving, resilience, and self-advocacy under clinical supervision.

The role includes coordinating care, completing screenings per Centerstone protocols, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support recovery pathways for clients in our behavioral health programs.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication abilities and meet certification communication requirements.
• Basic computer literacy is required.
• Certification: PRS Certification required; must become certified within 90 days unless approved by the hiring manager.

Responsibilities

• Verbalize understanding of recovery and explain it to others.
• Identify client strengths in daily living and recovery skills.
• Help staff identify program elements that support or hinder recovery.
• Facilitate evidence-based protocols, safety plans, screens and risk assessments.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings with Centerstone programs and partners.
• Coordinate crisis intervention and connection to care.
• Coordinate referrals to inpatient, residential behavioral health/mental health/substance treatment.
• Transport clients to appointments and access resources.
