Job summary

Centerstone is seeking a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) to support individuals in recovery through group activities and one-on-one engagement in Indiana. The role emphasizes safety planning, crisis coordination, and connecting clients to care, using lived experience to inform guidance.

The position requires PRS Certification, a valid driver’s license, and at least one year of recovery experience, with strong communication and basic computer skills to support clients and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older and have lived experience with mental health, substance use or gambling treatment.
• Minimum of one year of recovery experience; criminal justice experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance; PRS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Verbalize understanding of recovery and articulate it to others.
• Assist clients with identifying personal strengths in daily living and recovery skills.
• Assist staff in identifying program elements that are supportive or barriers to recovery.
• Facilitate evidence based protocols, safety plans, complete screens and risk assessments as trained.
• Coordinate and assist with crisis intervention/ connection to care.
• Coordinate referrals to inpatient, residential behavioral health/mental health/substance treatment.
• Transport clients to appointments and to access resources.
