Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools seeks a Teacher Aide to provide instructional support, training, and personal assistance to teachers of students with disabilities. This position works directly 1:1 with an assigned student who needs additional support.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, supervising behavior, assisting with daily living skills, and supporting speech and other therapies as directed. A high school diploma or GED and experience with children are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as a teacher aide or working with children.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher by performing instructional duties and preparing classroom materials.
• Supervise student behavior and reinforce lesson concepts.
• Record student data such as skill practice and toileting.
• Implement behavior modification plans under supervision.
• Read to students and support language development as directed by therapists.
• Operate classroom audiovisual equipment and assist with related tasks.
