Thresholds in Chicago, IL is seeking a Residential Support Specialist for Youth and Young Adult Services. You will work one-on-one and in groups with young adults aged 16-21, coaching them toward independence in work, relationships and daily living within a residential setting.

You will help residents learn skills, regulate emotions using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques, and document progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate and at least 25 years of age.
• Associates degree or higher and at least 21 years of age.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong writing ability and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Responsabilités

• Coach youth toward achieving goals related to work, relationships and independent living.
• Support youth one-on-one and in groups in a residential setting.
• Teach independent living skills such as hygiene and housekeeping.
• Assist with meal preparation and model healthy relationships.
