Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's degree, preferably including coursework in working with children.
• In lieu of an Associate's degree, must have both a high school diploma or GED and a passing score on a qualifying academic assessment that measures knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Understanding of child development principles; training in instructional techniques and behavior management is desired.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and students using tact and good judgment.
• Ability to collect data and perform basic mathematical functions.
• Excellent English communication accuracy in spoken and written instructions.
• Pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Independently implements individual and group behavior plans.
• Provides physical assistance including mobility support and helping with devices.
• Assists with academic instruction in small groups or one-on-one.
• Maintains classroom discipline and supports behavior management.
• Performs clerical duties and assists with lesson plans and materials.
• Supervises students during school activities.
