Job summary

UCP Heartland in the Saint Louis metro area is seeking an Employment Support Specialist (Job Coach) for a full-time, non-exempt role with 40 hours per week. You will provide one-on-one coaching at community worksites and help individuals learn tasks and gain independence.

You will collaborate with employers, families, and VR counselors, manage a caseload up to 25, and complete documentation in electronic health records while maintaining professional communication with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• 2+ years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.
• Creative problem-solving and ability to think outside the box.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Organized with ability to manage multiple clients.
• Flexible schedule aligned with client work hours.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation and current auto insurance
• Ability to pass Family Care Safety Registry screening
• Ability to pass a motor vehicle driving record check
• Employment contingent upon background checks and reference verification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, sit, bend, and walk for up to 8 hours
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds using proper lifting and transfer techniques
