Overview

This is a highly active, hands-on role that combines administrative responsibilities with physical program support, including food distribution, inventory management, and facility upkeep.

The Workforce Development Program Assistant (Coordinator Track) is a dynamic, growth-oriented role designed to support both administrative operations and direct workforce development services. This position begins with a strong foundation in program support, client assistance, and data management, while progressively developing the skills and responsibilities of a Workforce Development Coordinator.

The individual in this role will support program operations, assist participants in accessing services, and maintain accurate documentation, while also gaining experience in case management, employment readiness coaching, and employer engagement. Over time, this role will take on increased responsibility in managing participant caseloads, developing individualized employment plans, and supporting job placement efforts.

This role is expected to grow into increased responsibility, including independent client management and program coordination based on performance and program needs.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office and community-based settings with adequate ventilation;

This is a highly active role requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching throughout the workday;

Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of items including food boxes, clothing, supplies, and equipment (approximately 25–50 lbs on a regular basis);

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Business, or related field preferred;

Experience in administrative support, workforce development, human services, or a related field preferred;

Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced, active environment;

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn additional software systems;

Required Proficiencies – Microsoft Office Suite, experience with CRM platforms and case management software preferred;

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations facing employment barriers;

Ability to support both administrative and direct service functions, with willingness to grow into case management and coordinator responsibilities;

Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and maintain confidentiality;

Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required;

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background checks, and clearances.
