Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is hiring a Part-Time Employment Specialist in Pottsville, PA to coach individuals with developmental disabilities and prepare them for employment. Starting pay is $19.75 per hour.

You will develop essential job skills, assist in job placement, and work closely with individuals at job sites to ensure successful outcomes. This position requires a high school diploma or GED and driving to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years’ full-time experience in supporting people with disabilities.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Background checks (criminal, central registry, child abuse registry) and drug testing required.

Responsibilities

• Provide necessary assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
• Coach individuals to develop independent job skills.
• Work side-by-side with individuals at job sites.
• Teach skills such as resume development, job interviews, and job applications.
• Accurately complete all documentation.
• Additional tasks may be assigned.
• Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections or inquiries.

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states.

We are Now Hiring a Part-Time Employment Specialist in Pottsville, PA to coach persons with developmental disabilities and prepare them for employment. The Employment Specialist will develop essential job skills for persons with disabilities and assist in job placement.

Starting pay is $19.75/per hour

Responsibilities

• Provide the necessary assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
• Coach the person with disabilities to develop independent job skills.
• Work side-by-side with persons with disabilities at job sites.
• Reinforce essential skills, or teach new skills such as developing a resume, conducting a successful job interview, and completing a job application.
• Accurately complete all documentation.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
• Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years’ full-time work experience in supporting people with disabilities
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
