Job summary

St. John of God Community Services seeks an Employment Specialist to provide supported employment to individuals, helping them obtain and maintain competitive work.

You will build partnerships with employers, complete pre-vocational evaluations, and ensure compliance with required standards and confidentiality. You will develop resumes, assist with job applications, train interview skills, and arrange transportation as needed, while collaborating with families and referring agencies to place

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field.
• Experience with Social Security Ticket to Work Program.
• Certified Work Incentive Counselor preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships.
• Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops employment opportunities for clients and assists clients with the transition to community-based employment.
• Contacts employers to develop and identify job opportunities.
• Provides job-coaching services.
• Completes reports and maintains records.
• Ensures CARF, DOL, Ticket to Work and DVRS standards are met and maintained.
• Transports clients during job development and coaching.
• Participates in safeguarding trainings and departmental meetings.
