Job summary

West Bay RI is seeking an Employment Specialist to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities explore careers, build independence, and gain meaningful employment within the community. You will serve as a vocational mentor, social coach, and advocate, forging relationships with people we support and local employers to create opportunities that fit each person's interests and goals.

A driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate Degree preferred in special education, psychology or related field.
• Minimum one year relevant experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• ACRE Certification or equivalent required.
• Maintains a valid Driver's License and automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in exploring career goals and building workplace skills.
• Identify and develop employment opportunities and build relationships with employers.
• Provide customized job coaching and ongoing support to help individuals succeed in the workplace.
• Maintain accurate case notes, service documentation, and progress records.
