Job summary

The Arc of Bristol County, Smithfield, RI, is seeking an Employment Support Professional to provide one-on-one, community-based employment support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

You will help people find, learn, and keep jobs that match their interests and strengths through job development, coaching, and coordination with families and service partners.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates or Bachelor Degree in Human Services or related field; one year of experience preferred.
• ACRE certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance and car registration.
• Ability to pass criminal background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized employment support using a person-centered approach.
• Assist individuals with identifying employment goals and steps toward paid work.
• Conduct community mapping to identify employers and resources that support employment opportunities.
• Participate in job development activities, including employer outreach and matching individuals to jobs.
• Provide on-site job coaching to support task learning and independence.
• Support individuals in building positive working relationships and natural supports at work.
• Implement job retention strategies and maintain timely documentation according to policy.
• Coordinate with state agencies to support service planning and access to resources.
• Provide training and employment-related instruction to individuals as needed.
