Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a Full-time Employment Specialist to coach individuals with developmental disabilities and prepare them for competitive employment.

You will work side-by-side with clients at job sites, help develop essential job skills, assist with resumes and interview preparation, and document progress for program compliance. This role supports inclusive hiring initiatives and offers opportunities for growth within a national nonprofit that values independence

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years’ full-time work experience in supporting people with disabilities.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Background checks including criminal, central registry, child abuse and drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
• Coach individuals to develop independent job skills and prepare for work.
• Work side-by-side with clients at job sites to support performance.
• Help with resumes, interview skills, and job applications.
• Accurately complete documentation and maintain records.

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states. We are Now Hiring a Full-time Employment Specialist in Phoenix, AZ to coach persons with developmental disabilities and prepare them for employment. The Employment Specialist will develop essential job skills for persons with disabilities and assist in job placement.

Responsibilities

• Provide the necessary assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
• Coach the person with disabilities to develop independent job skills.
• Work side-by-side with persons with disabilities at job sites.
• Reinforce essential skills, or teach new skills such as developing a resume, conducting a successful job interview, and completing a job application.
• Accurately complete all documentation.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
• Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years’ full-time work experience in supporting people with disabilities
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
