Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is hiring a Full-time Employment Specialist in El Paso, TX to coach individuals with developmental disabilities toward employment. Starting pay is $14.00 per hour, with some weekends/holidays required.

Responsibilities include helping clients secure competitive employment, developing job skills, and assisting with resumes, interviews, and applications. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of full-time work experience supporting people with disabilities.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Background checks, central registry, child abuse registry and drug testing required.

Responsibilities

• Help people with disabilities gain competitive employment.
• Coach individuals to develop independent job skills.
• Work with clients at job sites to reinforce essential skills.
• Assist with resume writing, interview practice, and job applications.
• Complete all required documentation accurately.
• Participate in inspections or investigations as needed.

We are Now Hiring aFull-timeEmployment SpecialistinEl Paso, TX to coach persons with developmental disabilities and prepare them for employment. The Employment Specialist will develop essential job skills for persons with disabilities and assist in job placement.

Starting pay: $14.00 per hour (some weekends and holidays may be needed)

Responsibilities

• Provide the necessary assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
• Coach the person with disabilities to develop independent job skills.
• Work side-by-side with persons with disabilities at job sites.
• Reinforce essential skills, or teach new skills such as developing a resume, conducting a successful job interview, and completing a job application.
• Accurately complete all documentation.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
• Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years’ full-time work experience in supporting people with disabilities
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
