Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is hiring a full-time Employment Specialist in York, PA to coach individuals with developmental disabilities and prepare them for employment. You will help develop essential job skills and assist in job placement, starting at $19.80 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of full-time experience supporting people with disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
• Coach individuals to develop independent job skills.
• Work side-by-side with individuals at job sites.
• Teach resume development, interview skills, and job applications.
• Accurately complete all documentation.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
• Cooperate with licensing and department staff during inspections or investigations.

Community Options, Inc. is a national non‑profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states.

We are Now Hiring a Full‑time Employment Specialist in York, PA to coach persons with developmental disabilities and prepare them for employment. The Employment Specialist will develop essential job skills for persons with disabilities and assist in job placement.

Starting pay is $19.80/hour

Responsibilities

• Provide the necessary assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
• Coach the person with disabilities to develop independent job skills.
• Work side‑by‑side with persons with disabilities at job sites.
• Reinforce essential skills, or teach new skills such as developing a resume, conducting a successful job interview, and completing a job application.
• Accurately complete all documentation.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
• Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years’ full‑time work experience in supporting people with disabilities
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
