Job summary

Renewed Horizons in Hayden, Idaho is seeking an outgoing Employment Specialist to help people with developmental disabilities find, obtain, and maintain meaningful work in the community.

You will meet participants, connect with local employers, provide job coaching, support resumes and interviews, and track progress while building strong relationships with families and team members.

Qualifications

• Experience in job development, recruiting, sales, business development, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus, but training is available.

Employment Specialist – Help People Find Meaningful Employment!

Location: Hayden, Idaho & Surrounding Areas

Compensation: Salary

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday–Friday with some flexibility based on participant schedules, might include some weekend hours as needed for participant success.

Renewed Horizons is looking for an outgoing and motivated Employment Specialist to join our Supported Employment team!

This position works directly with individuals with developmental disabilities to help them find, obtain, and maintain meaningful employment in our community. A big part of this role is getting out into the community, connecting with local businesses, developing employment opportunities, and finding the right job match for each person we support.

What You'll Do:

• Get to know participants' strengths, interests, abilities, and employment goals


• Connect with local businesses to develop employment opportunities


• Build and maintain positive relationships with employers throughout the community


• Assist participants with applications, resumes, interviews, and the hiring process


• Look for creative job opportunities that match each participant's individual strengths and interests


• Work with employers to understand their staffing needs and identify potential job matches


• Provide job coaching and workplace support once employment is secured


• Teach workplace skills and help participants become more independent on the job


• Track progress and complete required documentation


• Communicate with participants, employers, families, and other members of the support team

Experience in job development, recruiting, sales, business development, Supported Employment, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person!

Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license, current car insurance, and reliable transportation. Must be able to pass a federal background check.

CPR & First Aid certification will be paid for in full upon being hired by us, if not already certified.
