Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in El Paso, TX is hiring a Full-time Employment Specialist to coach individuals with developmental disabilities and prepare them for employment. Starting pay is $14.00 per hour, with some weekends and holidays required.

The role involves developing job skills, assisting with job placement, and ensuring accurate documentation. Benefits include insurance and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ full-time work experience in supporting people with disabilities.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Background checks required: criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide the necessary assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
• Coach the person with disabilities to develop independent job skills.
• Work side-by-side with persons with disabilities at job sites.
• Reinforce essential skills, or teach new skills such as developing a resume, conducting a successful job interview, and completing a job application.
• Accurately complete all documentation.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
• Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
