Job summary

Northeast Arc is seeking an Employment Specialist to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving meaningful employment and community engagement goals. You will provide job coaching, employment readiness training, community-based support, and advocacy to help individuals develop skills, gain independence, and succeed in competitive work environments.

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8 am-4 pm. Pay rate: $25.00 Hourly.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and related applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide employment readiness training and skill development to individuals receiving services.
  • Assist individuals in identifying career interests, goals, and employment opportunities.
  • Support job placement efforts and provide individualized job coaching at community worksites.
  • Conduct follow-up support with individuals and employers to promote long-term job success.
  • Adapt support strategies and work environments to maximize independence.
  • Assist individuals with personal care and physical support needs as required.
  • Facilitate community-based learning experiences, including job tours and career exploration activities.
  • Maintain positive communication with employers, families, guardians, and funding sources.
  • Provide advocacy and case management support for an assigned caseload.
  • Complete required documentation, progress notes, and data collection in a timely manner.
  • Transport individuals served when necessary using a personal vehicle.

In this role, you will provide job coaching, employment readiness training, community-based support, and advocacy to help individuals develop skills, gain independence, and succeed in competitive work environments.
