The mission of the Department of Veterans’ Services (DVS) is to connect, mobilize, and empower New York City’s Veteran Community. DVS aims to foster purpose-driven lives for Service Members—past and present—as well as their caregivers, survivors, and families. The department provides essential services and programs focused on economic empowerment, housing security, benefits, health and wellness, and culture for approximately 200,000 Veterans in NYC.
DVS seeks to hire an Employment Specialist who will assist the Military Affiliated Community in accessing meaningful employment across sectors including public, private, and government industries. The role involves guiding individuals toward suitable job placements based on their skills, experiences, and goals, and connecting them with workforce development programs, training, and resources to support career transitions and growth.

This position is open to qualified persons with disabilities eligible for the 55-a Program. Employees may be eligible for federal and state loan forgiveness programs.
