This position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a Range 16.
The Employment Services Manager (ESM) 1 is a working supervisory position located at the Sitka Job Center and serves under the direct supervision of the Southeast Regional Manager (ESM 3) located at the Juneau Job Center. This position manages the activities of the Sitka Job Center by providing outreach of employment and training services to the local and surrounding communities including planning, organizing, scheduling, and facilitating program functions. Employment Services Managers perform administrative and managerial assignments necessary for the delivery of federal and state entitlement and employment programs and services that assist individuals to become self-sufficient and gain employment or reemployment, receive career support and training service, receive employment counseling, and/or assist business community market employment opportunities and maintain a viable workforce. Positions in this series perform a variety of duties such as supervising and managing program staff; planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the delivery of program services; promoting utilization and understanding of program services; and coordinating program services with other public and private sector entities.

The Division of Employment and Training Services is devoted to comprehensive workforce development for both its staff and customers. The work week for this position is Monday through Friday, 7.5 hours per day on a work schedule determined between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm.
