Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with a strong academic record
• Active Florida Bar admission, in good standing
• 4-7 years of substantive employment litigation experience
• Experience handling employment-related disputes including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, wage and hour
• Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses
• Experience taking and defending depositions
• Experience appearing in state and federal courts and arbitration
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
• Excellent legal writing, analytical and oral advocacy skills
• Experience counseling management on employment matters (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters in state and federal courts, adminstrative proceedings, and arbitration
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
• Conduct witness interviews, legal research, and case analysis
• Take and defend depositions and assist with trial and hearing preparation
• Develop litigation strategy and work directly with clients to achieve favorable outcomes
• Advise employers on employment law compliance and workplace risk management
• Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's labor and employment practice on complex matters
• Manage case files and litigation deadlines from inception through resolution
