Job summary

Jackson Lewis LC, a national labor and employment law firm, is seeking an associate attorney in our New Orleans office to defend employers in employment disputes and to advise on policy matters. The role requires a Juris Doctor and active Louisiana bar admission, with strong writing and analytical skills.

You will handle litigation, provide counseling, and work collaboratively in a hybrid office environment, serving clients across industries with a focus on workplace compliance and strategy.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA accredited law school with excellent academics.
• 2+ years of employment law experience preferred.
• Current LA Bar admission in good standing.
• Understanding of state and federal agency procedures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

This position is located in our New Orleans, LA office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination.
• Advise, counsel, and train employers on various employment and labor law issues.
• Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration in employment matters, including class/collective actions and discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases.

Skills and Educational Requirements:

• JD from ABA accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials
• 2+years of experience, employment law background strongly preferred.
• Current LA Bar admission in good standing
• Understanding of current agency (state and federal) procedures
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
• Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork
