Our client, a prominent advisory firm in Welkom, seeks an experienced Employment Law Specialist to guide on all aspects of employment relations. This hybrid role blends in‑office presence with remote work and focuses on compliance, disputes, contracts, and HR policies.

The ideal candidate is an admitted attorney with at least five years in employment law, strong drafting and advocacy skills, and proven ability to conduct workplace investigations and trainings for management.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of dedicated employment law experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of South African labour legislation and case law.
• Proven experience advising on and resolving employment disputes.
• Excellent drafting skills for contracts and policies.
• Strong advocacy and negotiation skills in labour matters.
• Experience conducting workplace investigations and disciplinary proceedings.
• Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice.
• Good understanding of HR practices.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of employment law, including hiring, termination, disciplinary processes, and performance management.
• Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
• Advise on and manage the resolution of labour disputes, including grievances, CCMA/Bargaining Council disputes, and High Court litigation.
• Conduct workplace investigations and provide guidance on disciplinary hearings.
• Ensure compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Labour Relations Act (LRA), Employment Equity Act (EEA), and other relevant legislation.
• Advise on restructuring, retrenchments, and related employment law implications.
• Conduct training sessions for management and HR personnel on employment law matters.
• Stay current with legislative changes and legal precedents in employment law.

About the Role
