Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey, Inc. in Bronx, NY, is seeking an Employment Engagement Coordinator / Clubhouse Generalist to support vocational, educational, and social rehabilitation services within Lantern House Clubhouse.

Under the supervision of the Clubhouse Director, you will engage members, manage caseloads, document in EHR, and help run daily operations, ensuring a recovery‑oriented, person-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation, or related field preferred.
• Candidates with a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of relevant experience will be considered.
• Experience working with individuals living with mental health conditions is preferred.
• Prior experience utilizing a non-clinical, recovery-oriented, community-based approach is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Employment Engagement Coordinator / Clubhouse Generalist

Location: Bronx, NY

Position Summary

Lantern House Clubhouse provides a supportive, recovery-oriented environment where adults living with mental health conditions work collaboratively to build meaningful relationships, develop skills, and achieve their personal, educational, and employment goals. The Clubhouse model empowers members to utilize their strengths, talents, and abilities through shared responsibility and participation in a community-focused setting.

Under the supervision of the Clubhouse Director, the Employment Engagement Coordinator / Clubhouse Generalist works in partnership with Clubhouse staff and members to support vocational, educational, and social rehabilitation services. This position plays a key role in facilitating member engagement, promoting employment and educational opportunities, and supporting the daily operations of the Clubhouse through a person-centered and strength-based approach.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, energetic, team-oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while fostering member participation and recovery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Member Engagement & Support

• Collaborate with Intake staff to coordinate outreach efforts, program presentations, referrals, admissions, and member onboarding activities.
• Manage an assigned caseload of members and support individualized goal planning using person-centered approaches.
• Engage members in meaningful work-ordered day activities utilizing motivational interviewing and strength-based practices.
• Help members identify and develop their strengths, interests, skills, and vocational aspirations.
• Encourage active member participation in Clubhouse programming, including employment, education, health, wellness, social, and community activities.
• Conduct proactive outreach to members and maintain ongoing engagement efforts.
• Facilitate unit meetings to identify, organize, prioritize, and complete daily unit work.
• Support members in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming unit environment.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Record member participation, outreach efforts, status changes, and support services in accordance with agency and program requirements.
• Complete all required reports, data tracking, and administrative documentation within established timelines.

Clubhouse Operations

• Assist with kitchen operations, meal preparation, and shared Clubhouse responsibilities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Clubhouse policies, code of ethics, and Clubhouse International Standards.
• Utilize Clubhouse standards and agency policies to address questions, resolve concerns, and support program quality.
• Participate in daily Clubhouse operations and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Employment & Education Services

• Support vocational and educational initiatives designed to promote member success and community integration.
• Serve as Placement Manager for members participating in Transitional Employment programs.
• Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and support to Transitional Employment participants.
• Provide job site coverage and perform assigned duties when members are absent from Transitional Employment placements.
• Prepare and submit required monthly and quarterly employment-related reports.

Additional Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and facilitate Clubhouse activities and special events in collaboration with members.
• Participate in evening, weekend, holiday, and community-based activities as needed.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, flexibility, and strong follow-through.
• Commitment to the principles of recovery, empowerment, and member participation.

Scope of Responsibility

• Responsible for assisting with the financial and operational activities of the assigned unit under the direction of the Clubhouse Director.
• May provide guidance and supervision to volunteers and program participants as assigned.

Working Conditions

• Some Saturday work is required.
• The Clubhouse operates on all recognized holidays, and staff may be required to work holiday schedules.
• Travel required for up to three (3) weeks of Clubhouse training at a certified training base outside New York State.
• Must be available to provide coverage for the Employment Unit as needed.
