This full-time benefitted, non-exempt role focuses on guiding adults with psychiatric disabilities and/or substance use disorders toward daily living, work, learning, and social activities within the clubhouse. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in related field required.
  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health, vocational, or substance-use needs preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support members in achieving personal recovery, employment, education, and social goals.
  • Oversee Welcome & Intake Unit daily operations & develop methods to enhance unit functioning.
  • Engage and work with Clubhouse members on daily unit tasks, outreach, and workshops.
  • Coordinate all food orders and maintain weekly food and kitchen supplies inventory.
  • Ensure organization of food storage, meals prep, and dining service areas.
  • Assist with weekly meals planning, food orders, and monthly meals reimbursement.

About This Role

We’re looking for a compassionate and energetic Mental Health Generalist to join our Culinary Wellness Unit within our accredited mental health clubhouse. In this role, you’ll partner with adults living with psychiatric disabilities and/or substance use disorders, helping them build skills, access resources, and engage in meaningful daily clubhouse work and activities.

The Awesome Things You’ll Do
  • Support members in achieving personal recovery, employment, education, and social goals.
  • Oversee Welcome & Intake Unit daily operations & develop methods to enhance unit functioning.
  • Engage and work side by side with Clubhouse members in carrying out daily unit tasks, including: outreaching unit members, researching Unit resources related to nutrition health & wellness, creating workshops, presentations and other special events, designing and delivering marketable tips & tools that support healthy living, and assisting with coordinating member contributions to the Clubhouse’s monthly calendar, newsletter and social media outlets.
  • Coordinate all food orders and maintain weekly food and kitchen supplies inventory.
  • Ensure the organization of all food storage, meals prep, and dining service areas, as well as all other Culinary & Wellness Unit designated workspaces.
  • Assist Clubhouse program with producing its weekly meals planning, food orders, food production, and monthly meals reimbursement work.
  • Participate in opportunities for social and recreational activities within and outside of the clubhouse.
  • Assist with program marketing strategies through the documenting of unit-related activities/events via flyers, special invites, pictures and videos.
  • Manage member case records and documentation via the electronic health files, secure private health information, and complete all required program and agency training.
  • Engage members through outreach & encouragement, with a focus on their strengths, abilities and interests.
  • Establish working relationships with members within the Clubhouse community to support their experiences as valued participants in the community.
  • Connect members to community resources to meet individual needs (i.e. legal, employment, housing, benefits, and treatment).
  • Work cooperatively with staff & members in developing Clubhouse policies and in advancing the purposes and welfare of the Clubhouse as a whole.
  • Impart to members with a vision of their potential to achieve aspirations through acceptance and empathy that is not restricted by disability but is based on needs common to all people seeking employment, education, housing, and social involvements.

Activities are subject to change / be added to meet business needs with management approval.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in related field required.
  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health, vocational, or

substance-use needs (preferred).

  • Convey a vibrant energy that attracts Clubhouse members and enables

quality engagement.

  • Comfort using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a communal setting.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
Special Working Conditions
You May
  • Assist across all other Clubhouse units with general knowledge and ability to facilitate daily and monthly Clubhouse meetings.
  • Provide case management referrals, member escorting when needed, and daily Clubhouse side-by-side work with members.
  • Work occasional Saturdays, late shifts (11am – 7pm) or certain holidays.
  • Acquire a NYS Food Handlers License – which is required – (if needed).
  • Attend required two-week clubhouse training out of state.
