Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced employment-law defense attorney in California for a hybrid or remote role. You will defend employers in employment-related litigation, draft pleadings, and manage discovery across federal and state venues.

• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
• Advise employers on compliance with employment laws and draft policies and contracts.

Job Details

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in employment-related litigation and administrative proceedings
• Handle matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies (e.g., EEOC, DOL, state fair employment agencies)
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
• Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
• Advise employers on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
• Draft and review employment policies, handbooks, agreements, and contracts

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school
• Active bar admission in California
• 5+ years of experience practicing employment law on the defense side
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
• Litigation experience, including motion practice and discovery
