Humane World for Animals is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to support the Office of General Counsel in providing expert labor and employment guidance for a global organization. Role focuses on domestic matters, with responsibility for employee relations, wage and hour compliance, leave administration, and workplace investigations.

The position requires a JD, US license, and at least five years of experience; international labor law exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Juris doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the United States in good standing.
• Minimum five years of legal experience with a law firm, corporation, or government.
• Expertise in US labor and employment law (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA).
• Experience with international labor and employment law is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Provide comprehensive labor and employment counsel on all aspects of the employment relationship.
• Maintain templates for employment agreements and related documents.
• Develop and manage compliance and risk strategies for employment law.
• Coordinate with US Outside Counsel and support international issues.
• Stay current on federal, state, and local employment law developments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
