Responsibilities

  • Coordinate programs and activities for professional development and training.
  • Coordinate external relationships with area universities and MDE for certification info and recruitment.
  • Coordinate recruiting and placement of staff for staffing efficiency.
  • Establish and communicate the District’s mentor program for teachers.
  • Maintain compliance with district and state placement requirements in mentorship and pay levels.
  • Implement hire, placement and termination practices for instructional staff.
  • Maintain compliance and professional development records and licensure information.
  • Maintain employee information for accurate reporting and staffing allocations.
  • Maintain job descriptions aligned to district objectives.
  • Manage employment changes and communications with relevant staff.
  • Manage web-based application database for posting and managing vacancies.
  • Process new hire processing for instructional staff and ensure proper paperwork.
  • Participate in meetings and trainings to coordinate activities and ensure compliance.
  • Prepare written materials documenting activities and communications.
  • Support applicants navigating the online application program.
  • Use the online system to generate reports and conduct candidate searches.

Position: Employment Coordinator - Instructional

Department: Employee and Fiscal Services

Primary Function

The job of the Employment Coordinator – Instructional was established for the purpose/s of providing comprehensive human resources support for instructional staff (i.e. WAA, WEA, Exempt); maintaining job postings and job search protocol; providing mentorship support to the district; maintaining instructional qualification, certification and assignment records; and maintaining legal compliance in hiring practices.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate’s degree in job related area required
  • Bachelor’s degree in or higher in job related area preferred
  • MSBO Certification preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilites

  • Coordinate a variety of programs and activities for the purpose of delivering professional development and training in conformance to established guidelines.
  • Coordinate external relationships with area universities and MDE for the purpose of collecting certification information, recruiting new teacher candidates; and managing student teacher plafcement.
  • Coordinates recruiting and placement of staff for the purpose of ensuring optimum staffing efficiency.
  • Establish, maintain, and communicate the District’s mentor program for teachers for the purpose of effective peer support in the maintenance of quality teaching and learning.
  • Evaluate documentation and certification for the purpose of taking appropriate action to ensure compliance with district and state placement requirements is maintained and determining appropriate mentorship, pay levels, and tenure procesing.
  • Implement comprehensive hire, placement and termination practices (e.g. new hire, layoff, recall, etc.) for instructional staff for the purpose of consistent application of required paperwork, communications, and legal compliance requirements.
  • Maintain compliance and professional development records, employee certification and licensure information for all job functions for the purpose of maintaining policy, contractual, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain employee information (e.g. seniority, location, assignment) for the purpose of accurate reporting and ensuring that staffing allocations are maintained.
  • Maintain job descriptions for the purpose of accurate alignment to district objectives.
  • Maintain processes and procedures related to changes of employment for the purpose of maintaining organizational records and communication with relevant staff (union, supervisor, human resources and business department).
  • Manage web-based application database (e.g. Hire) for the purpose of posting and managing available employment or assignment vacancies for instructional staff.
  • Manage new hire processing for all instructional staff for the purpose of effective and consistent application of required paperwork.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, seminars and training sessions as assigned for the purpose of coordinating activities, conveying information, and ensuring compliance with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Prepare written materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
  • Process all instructional staff changes of employment for the purpose of providing accurate assignment information to all necessary departments and ensuring proper historical documentation.
  • Support applicants, internal and external, for the purpose of navigating the online application program.
  • Utilize the online application system for the purpose of creating reports, setting employer preferences, communicating with applicants, and conducting local, regional, and national candidate searches for instructional staff.
