Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in Allentown, PA is seeking an Employment Specialist to coach individuals with developmental disabilities and prepare them for employment. Responsibilities include developing job skills, assisting with job placement, and supporting participants at the workplace.

The role starts at $19.75 per hour, with benefits and opportunities for growth. Candidates must meet basic education and background check requirements and have reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Two years’ full-time work experience in supporting people with disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Employment is contingent upon successful background checks and clearances.

Responsibilities

• Provide the necessary assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
• Coach the person with disabilities to develop independent job skills.
• Work side-by-side with persons with disabilities at job sites.
• Reinforce essential skills, or teach new skills such as developing a resume, conducting a successful job interview, and completing a job application.
• Accurately complete all documentation.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
• Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.
