Job summary

River Valley Transit Authority is hiring for a Class B Diesel Mechanic on the 2nd shift (3:30 PM–12:00 AM) in Williamsport, PA. Immediate hire with overtime possibilities.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance on Diesel and CNG buses, plus autos and light trucks, plus some minor repairs and road testing after service. The role requires a valid PA CDL B with air brakes restriction lifted and passenger endorsement.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid PA driver’s license with CDL B, air brakes restriction lifted, and passenger endorsement.
• Experience with preventive maintenance on Diesel and CNG buses, autos, light trucks and equipment.
• Able to use basic hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Diesel and CNG buses, autos and light trucks.
• Minor mechanical repair work: tires, brakes, batteries, belts & hoses.
• Parts replacement on vehicle operating systems.
• Servicing and fueling of buses, cars, vans and trucks.
• Road testing after repairs or maintenance.

• Position requires a valid PA driver’s license withCDL B classification, air brakes restriction lifted as well as passenger endorsement.
• Must have or be able to acquire various basic hand and power tools

RVTA may provide training to secure appropriate CDL license.
