Job summary

River Valley Transit Authority is hiring a Class B Diesel Mechanic for the 2nd shift (3:30 PM–12:00 AM). The role focuses on preventive maintenance for diesel and CNG buses, autos and light trucks, with opportunities for overtime and regular days off.

A valid PA CDL B with air brakes release and passenger endorsement is required. The position includes training, competitive benefits, and a chance to advance within a busy public transit operation in Williamsport, PA.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid PA driver’s license with CDL B classification, air brakes restriction lifted and passenger endorsement.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on diesel buses, including CN gas buses and autos/light trucks.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Diesel and Compressed Natural Gas buses as well as autos and light trucks.
• Carry out minor mechanical repairs: tires, brakes, batteries, belts and hoses.
• Replace parts on vehicle operating systems and service vehicles, cars, vans, and trucks.
• Road test after repairs or maintenance.
