Ideal candidates will have a NC bar license, experience in employment law or civil litigation, and strong trial preparation skills, with a focus on client service and professional growth within the firm.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina law license required.

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Employment Attorney in Huntersville, NC to join and expand its statewide North Carolina employment law practice. The firm represents both employees and employers in various employment matters, offering an opportunity for significant case ownership and client interaction.

Duties

• Manage employment matters from consultation to resolution.
• Evaluate potential cases and advise clients on options.
• Develop case strategies and manage active caseloads independently.
• Draft demand letters and negotiate pre-litigation resolutions.
• Prepare EEOC and other administrative filings.
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Handle discovery, depositions, hearings, and mediations.
• Litigate in North Carolina state and federal courts.
• Prepare for and handle arbitrations and trials as needed.
• Communicate directly with clients, keeping them informed.
• Advise employer clients on workplace issues and compliance.
• Contribute to the growth of the firm's employment practice.

Requirements

• Active North Carolina law license.
• Experience in employment law or civil litigation with interest in employment law.
• Experience in state and/or federal court proceedings.
• Proficiency in discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Ability to manage cases independently with sound judgment.

Education
