Job summary

Monadnock Developmental Services seeks an Employment and Community Float DSP to support individuals with developmental disabilities and brain disorders in community settings, employment sites, and volunteer programs. As a float, you will cover shifts as needed and assist with training new staff, adapting duties to each person’s ISA goals.

You will provide on-the-job support, transportation, and medication administration as directed, while maintaining confidentiality and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Experience with developmental disabilities or brain disorders is a plus, training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Cover day-to-day functions of supported employment and community participation programs.
  • Empower individuals to advocate for themselves, share ideas, and make choices regarding supports.
  • Encourage and facilitate participation in social, cultural, and recreational community activities.
  • Help individuals develop and maintain independent living, social, and professional skills.
  • Provide on-the-job support to ensure individuals meet employer standards and maintain their employment.
  • Partner with Program Managers to identify resources for training, employment, and transportation.
  • Provide safe transportation to and from employment sites, volunteer opportunities, and community outings.
  • Administer medication when required, following agency nurse determinations and maintaining medication authorization status.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation, including daily notes, progress reports, incident reports, and hours worked.
  • Communicate promptly with Program Managers, the CSS Director, and nursing staff regarding health, safety, or emotional changes.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols and regulatory policies.

Job Title: Employment and Community Float DSP

Compensation: Starting at $17.00 per hour

Position Type: Full-Time with benefits Sign-On Bonus: $750.00

MDS is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Employment and Community Float DSP to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or acquired brain disorders. You will provide direct support in community settings, volunteer sites, and employment locations to help individuals achieve the goals outlined in their Individual Service Agreements (ISA). As a float, you will ensure consistent care and staffing by covering shifts as needed and assisting with the training and onboarding of new staff members. Duties vary in intensity and frequency depending on the unique needs of the individuals you support.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or brain disorders is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record (as transportation is required).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain medication administration authorization.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and support needs.
