Job summary

The Maryland School for the Blind is seeking an HR Training Specialist to design, coordinate, and evaluate employee training and professional development aligned with the school's mission and regulatory needs.

The role leads safety, behavior management, onboarding, and continuous learning initiatives; tracks certifications, maintains records, and partners with departments to improve workplace safety, compliance, and staff growth across campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in HR, Education, Organizational Development, Training and Development, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of staff development, training, or HR experience including coordinating classroom-based training.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
• Experience coordinating multiple training programs, schedules, instructors, and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and evaluates the School's comprehensive employee training and professional development program.
• Coordinates student behavioral management and safety training and tracks certification status.
• Manages health, safety, emergency preparedness training, and related records.
• Monitors workers' compensation and injury prevention training and investigates trends.
• Coordinates New Employee Orientation, staff development, and licensing/certification activities.
