Job summary

Refuah Health Center Inc is seeking an Employee Shuttle Driver to transport employees between the Community Hall and health center. The role requires careful attention to safety, adherence to routes, and courteous service during peak and off hours.

Applicants must hold a valid NYS Class B or higher CDL, have a clean license, and at least two years of bus operation experience, with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS Commercial Driver License (Minimum Class B).
• Clean Driver License.
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a bus operator.

Responsibilities

• Transport employees to and from the Community Hall and health center.
• Open and close the entrance door and keep it securely closed while the bus is in motion.
• Drive in accordance with the route schedule and designated stops; observe speed limits.
• Make stops at designated bus stops with clear visibility and safe distance from traffic.
• Assist cross‑traffic safety: stop before crossing and signal when safe to cross the road.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the bus interior and exterior and report any incidents.
• Maintain vehicle upkeep (fuel, oil, cleaning) and support compliance programs.
• Report accidents, delays and driver absences to Transportation Manager.

Job Summary:The Employee Shuttle Driver is responsible for transporting employees to and from the Community Hall and the health center. Performing at peak hours in the day, as well as off hours. Performs function in a courteous and professional manner. Adheres to bus safety regulations and safety rules when loading and unloading passengers.Why Refuah?Join a collegial team of coworkers.Five modern state of the art facilities.Flexible schedules for maximum work-life balance.Duties and Responsibilities:Always exercises greatest care in transporting of employees.Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect employees, equipment and property.Opens and closes the entrance door and keeps it securely closed while bus is in motion.The bus operates at a safe speed not to exceed the speed limit per hour over the established route.Make stops in the right-hand lane when loading or discharging employees at designated bus stops, where buses can be clearly seen for a safe distance from both directions.Require employees who must cross the road to walk to a point 10 feet or more in front of the bus, stop before reaching a position in line with the left side of bus, and await signal from bus driver to start to cross the road.Stops bus at railway grade crossings- opens entrance door of bus and driver’s window and determines when it is safe for vehicle to cross railroad tracks.Operates the bus in accordance with route schedule and designated stops.Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspection of the entire interior and exterior of the bus.Reports on all accidents, delays and driver absences to Transportation Manager.Maintains and performs regular upkeep of the vehicle to include filling fuel tank, checking and adding oil, cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicle and other required maintenance.Complies with applicable policies and procedures and supports the Compliance Program.Contributes to organizational operations by performing other duties as may be required.Qualifications:Valid NYS Commercial Driver License (Minimum Class B)Clean Driver LicenseMinimum of two years’ experience as a bus operator.Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.Complies with and supports health center regulations and policies.Able to drive in inclement weather such as light snow and/or rain.Join Our Team and Keep Us Moving!Refuah Health is a federally qualified health center offering comprehensive care in Rockland and Sullivan Counties.
