Refuah Health Center in Spring Valley, NY is seeking a dedicated bus driver to transport patients between the health center and designated stops according to routes and time schedules.

The role emphasizes safety, courteous service, and compliance with regulations. Requirements include NYS CDL Class B, DMV 19A, a clean driving record, and at least two years' bus operation experience. We offer flexible schedules and a supportive team.

Formación

Responsabilidades

• Transport patients and staff to and from the health center per routes and schedules.
• Load and unload passengers safely, assist as needed, and monitor door operation.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic pre/post-trip inspections.
• Report accidents, delays, or absences to Transportation Manager.
• Comply with all policies, safety rules, and regulatory requirements.

Job Details: Job Location: SPRING VALLEY, NY 10977, Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00 Hourly, Job Summary: The bus driver is responsible for transporting patients to and from the health center according to specified routes, assigned stops and time schedules. Performs function in a courteous and professional manner. Adheres to bus safety regulations and safety rules when loading and unloading passengers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Always exercises greatest care in transporting of patients and employees.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect patients, employees, equipment and property.
• Opens and closes the entrance door and keeps it securely closed while bus is in motion.
• The bus operates at a safe speed not to exceed the speed limit per hour over the established route.
• Make stops in the right-hand lane when loading or discharging patients at designated bus stops, where buses can be clearly seen for a safe distance from both directions.
• Require patients who must cross the road to walk to a point 10 feet or more in front of the bus, stop before reaching a position in line with the left side of bus, and await signal from bus driver to start to cross the road.
• Stops bus at railway grade crossings- opens entrance door of bus and driver’s window and determines when it is safe for vehicle to cross railroad tracks.
• Operates the bus in accordance with route schedule and designated stops.
• Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspection of the entire interior and exterior of the bus.
• Reports on all accidents, delays and driver absences to Transportation Manager.
• Maintains and performs regular upkeep of the vehicle to include filling fuel tank, checking and adding oil, cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicle and other required maintenance.
• Complies with applicable policies and procedures and supports the Compliance Program.
• Contributes to organizational operations by performing other duties as may be required.

Qualifications:

• Meets DMV 19A requirements
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a bus operator.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Complies with and supports health center regulations and policies.
• Able to drive in inclement weather such as light snow and/or rain.
• Clean Driving Record
• Able to sit for long periods of time.
• Valid NYS Commercial Driver License (Minimum Class B)
