Job summary

Frost is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist I - University Recruiting in Texas to serve as the first line of support for employees and partners with managers to recruit for non-exempt roles.

You will counsel employees, conduct exits, manage payroll data, and deliver New Hire Induction to reinforce Frost's culture. A Bachelor’s degree and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Strong interviewing and organizational skills essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, and hire qualified applicants for non-exempt positions; collaborate with managers.
• Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating sensitive matters as needed.
• Conduct Exit Interviews to improve processes.
• Enter and maintain payroll and compensation data in the system (rates, bonuses, leave, etc.).
• Counsel and guide employees on work-related situations.
• Present New Hire Induction and Orientation to acclimate new employees to Frost and strengthen culture.
• Maintain compliance with employment laws and best practices.
• Administer the FMLA and ADA requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Act with integrity, care, and excellence to achieve win–win outcomes.

Who you are

As an Employee Relations Specialist I - University Recruiting, you are our employee’s first line of support, counseling and guiding employees as needed. You will also be responsible for partnering with managers to recruit and hire qualified applicants for non-exempt positions. Most importantly, this role is about building trust through every interaction and doing it with integrity, caring and excellence in mind.

What you’ll do

• Recruit, interview, and hire qualified job applicants for non-exempt level open positions; collaborate with managers to understand skills and competencies required for open positions
• Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
• Conduct Exit Interviews
• Enter, maintain, and process information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information
• Counsel and guide employees as needed to assist and mediate work related situations
• Present New Hire Induction and Orientation to acclimate new employees to Frost and to strengthen company culture throughout the organization
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices
• Administer the FMLA process and ADA requests
• Other assigned duties

What you’ll need

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Strong Interviewing and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft computer applications
