Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Employee Relations Specialist role based in Allentown, PA. The Employee Relations Specialist will support a positive workplace culture by managing employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and coaching for team members and supervisors. Daily responsibilities include providing guidance on HR policies, supporting performance management processes, and partnering with leadership to enhance employee engagement and retention. The role will also involve ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws, documenting employee relations activities, and recommending improvements to HR practices. Collaboration with HR colleagues and operations managers is essential to maintain fair, consistent, and transparent employment practices across the organization.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Employee Relations and Employee Engagement skills, with experience handling sensitive workplace issues and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of HR Policies and Labor and Employment Law to provide accurate guidance and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Candidates should possess Performance Management skills, including supporting evaluations, developmental feedback, and improvement plans.
  • Candidates should possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels.
  • Candidates should possess strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases and projects.
  • Relevant experience in HR, employee relations, or a related field is preferred; a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related discipline is beneficial.
  • Professional HR certifications (such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) are a plus, along with experience in construction or similar industries.
Other Responsibilities
  • Oversee employee performance and collaborate with management to evaluate underperforming employees.
  • Ensure employee compliance with all company policies and state/federal regulations.
  • Maintain employee records and update as needed.
  • Update company policies and benefits package.
  • Facilitate communication between managementand employees.
  • Educate employees on company benefits and rewards.
  • Assist management with corrective action, conflict resolution, incidents.
  • Record vacation time off.
  • Analyze current HR initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain reports and communication with Health Insurance Company.
  • Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
  • Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
  • Responsible for employee of the month program.
Qualifications
  • Preferred HR experience, minimum 1 year
  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Must Have Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills English and Spanish
